Q: What is CyberBase?
A: CyberBase is a distributed enterprise database system targeting the Labor Union sector in the United States.
Q: Can the application be tailored to meet specific needs of our Union?
A: YES, the core of the system contains a well balanced set of business rules that most likely will have to be modified to meet specific requirements of your organization.
Q: How much time will it take to modify the basic package?
A: It depnds on how much the system will have to change. (if there is a moderate number of changes it can take up to 3 months to get the system ready for prime time). Please call us or e-mail us regarding this matter.
Q: What versions of Windows are supported?
A: CyberBase runs on Windows 2000/XP/2003.
Q: How many client can it support
simultaneously
?
A: The application has proven itself in small and medium organizations (up to a 1000 client machines).
Q: What's the basic architecture?
A: CyberBase is a 3-tier application:
· presentation tier: a custom client application
· business tier: IIS (SOAP) and MTS business objects
· data tier: SQL server 2000 objects such as tables, triggers, stored procedures ...
Q: Can it work over the insecure internet connection or is it just a LAN application?
A: It's designed to work over the internet. CyberBase uses SOAP (simple object access protocol) to exchange messages with the server. To guarantee security the messages are encrypted by the application and the SOAP protocol can be configured to pass thought an SSL port.
Q: Is there a Web interface?
A: Yes, but it's
designed
primarily for the members of the Union and not for the office users. We have created a simple yet powerful stand-alone client application for the employees enabling them to perform their tasks quicly and efficiently. For a sneak peak please visit the CyberBase 1.4 section of the web site

3. How is your support policy? Do I need to pay for maintanance?
The amount depends on the cost of the solution proposed to you and is typically a percentage of the proposed value. Contact sales@unionpulse.com to get a copy of the support policy document.
4. Do I have to pay an annual licensing fee?
A- When you buy the software, you are paying a one-time fee to use the software forever. There is no subscription mode for using the software. However technical support by CyberBase will be charged (beyond the warranty period after installing the solution), which includes training, troubleshooting, updates, upgrades, etc.
5. What is your policy on updates and upgrades for the software?
A- During the support agreement period, UnionPulse will continuously provide updates (with bug fixes, security updates in the building blocks, minor enhancements) and Upgrades (features, architecture improvements, etc).
